The development of antenna and RF technology requires a good foundational understanding of the physics of electromagnetic phenomena. Maxwell’s equations describe and govern such physical mechanisms as radiation and signal transmission. These are complex vector-valued coupled-partial-differential equations that can’t generally be solved in closed form. Therefore, it’s vital to have a computational EM field software simulation capability that can accurately model the physics of radiation and wave phenomena.
Array Radiating Element Design
We have expertise in the design and fabrication of broadband, as well as wide scanning phased array antennas for communication and radar system applications. AOE radiating element technologies that are suitable for these applications include waveguide radiating elements, Vivaldi notch antenna elements, and low profile printed radiating elements.
Software Technology
Through over two decades decade of active research in the field of computational electromagnetics, our engineers have developed a state-of-the-art, proprietary 3D finite element (FEM) and moment-method (MOM) based field simulation software technology. Our software has a time-tested track record for accurate field simulation software technology.
Historically, this software was used successfully for both the design and performance of the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightening II advanced technology radar antennas. These phased array antennas are most likely the highest performing ever designed.
